Loading docks and freight elevators. A street-level venue on Long Island is a quick load-in. A 40th-floor event space means booked dock windows, freight elevator slots, and extra setup time, and that time gets built into the quote. Major hotels and the Javits Center may also require union labor for load-in.
Parking. Street parking near most Manhattan venues isn’t realistic, so crews stage from garages. Garage fees and the extra staff time show up somewhere in the price.
